Nigerian final year medical student in Ukraine commits suicide after school expelled her

Nigerian students schooling in a Ukarian university,  Ternopil State Medical University have planned a protest after a medical student who is a Nigerian and in her final year committed suicide after she was expelled from the institution.

The deceased, Badmus Ololade Rafiat who was in her final year felt she had no choice but to take her life after she was expelled from the institution for failing to pass the mock exams ahead of the final MBBS.

It was reported that she made attempts to transfer to another school to take the MBBS as other students do, but the school allegedly kept frustrating her and refused to provide the transcript for the process.

She was given the only option of returning to Nigeria to reapply for a student's Visa to start all over again. After continuously pleading with the Dean which yielded no result,  she wrote a suicide note and took her life on Thursday, January 16th.

Following her death, the school mourned her and put up a notice on a wall in the school with her photo. They expressed their condolences to her friends and family and added that she took her life because she was depressed and suicidal.


But her friends said that she wasnt as claimed by the school.The blamed the school authorities as she was frustrated for having to start all over again. Her friends have planned a protest against the school for the unfair treatment towards her that led to her dead.
